Finding Cheap Energy Prices
As it gets closer and closer to the winter, we will all be using our heating more and more. Putting on an extra layer or seven is a good idea, but sometimes it just isn’t enough. So what can we do to ensure that we’re not greeted with sky high energy prices when it comes to paying our next bill? Here are a few top tips for keeping warm this winter.
Budget
It’s boring, but if you’ve budgeted well for winter then you should be able to afford to have the heating on a little bit more. Luckily our British summer hasn’t been too abysmal this year so hopefully you’ll find that you can stretch a little bit further this winter.
Fixed Price Energy
Many energy companies offer fixed price energy tariffs for a couple of years. This means they won’t raise their prices for a certain period of time. If you’ve managed to get yourself one of these tariffs then you should be okay for winter. If not, then it might be time to do some shopping around.
Compare Energy Prices
Comparing energy prices is almost guaranteed to save you a few pennies. Chances are you’re paying more than you should be for your energy bills, so look around for a better deal.
Consider Renewable
Many renewable energy companies offer the chance to sell electricity back to the national grid, meaning you could quite easily earn back the money you invest into eco-friendly energy.
Grants
If you’re over a certain age or live off of benefits you could be entitled to a grant. Do a little research to find out more and you could save yourself a fortune this winter.
Try to keep your heating use down to a minimum this winter. Not only is it better for the environment, but it’ll be better for your pocket in the long run!
